Women In Insurance Awards 2022

On October 11, Fortegra sponsored an award and a table at the Women in Insurance Awards 2022 in London, UK. The Women in Insurance Awards aim to demonstrate the impressive achievements of women in the insurance market. Associates from several of our global offices attended the event, including from the London office, Jacksonville headquarters, DEFEND Insurance in Prague, and ITC Compliance Limited in Bristol.

We’re especially excited to have sponsored the Young Women in Insurance Award at the event. This award was presented by Fortegra’s very own Valentina Mueller. Congratulations to the winner, Lara Palmer, and to all nominees. We invest in our own young associates through supporting a Leadership Development Program, a 2-year rotational program that allows young professionals to experience a wide range of business experiences, and internal learning and development initiatives such as Fortegra Ascend. We are thrilled to have sponsored a recognition opportunity for hard-working young female professionals in the industry.

Our table sponsorship at the Women in Insurance Awards served as an opportunity for us to gather members of our global team together to connect and network with other industry leaders while celebrating the achievements of our own female leaders at Fortegra. We enjoyed celebrating them and discussing how to tackle industry challenges and move closer to our shared goals of offering equal leadership and career opportunities to all.

Promoting equal opportunities in the insurance industry serves as a focal point for internal Fortegra initiatives. Fortegra’s employee resource group, Fortegra NOW, focuses on supporting the diverse needs of underrepresented groups in the workforce. Fortegra NOW events are open to all company members, and many initiatives spotlight issues unique to women in the workforce. Policy examples include offering increased maternity leave, providing accommodations for nursing mothers, and establishing an annual Golf Summit for female executives and leaders.

We want all associates to have equal access to career and leadership opportunities. The goals of additional Fortegra NOW events have targeted career development opportunities such as a Professional Presence event which educated attendees on optimizing their professional personas, and a Body Language Seminar discussing the meaning of common nonverbal body language cues.
